Frequently Asked Questions

Why should a brand owner hire Vaudra Ltd.?
As a company built on a solid reputation in the IPR industry, we offer cost-effective customized solutions for your brand protection and investigation needs. With our vast IP experience and international support network, we are a powerful resource to assist you in protecting your brand’s value on a global scale. References are available upon request.

What will protection cost our company?
Our fees are based on an hourly rate, which given our level of expertise, is lower than many others’ in the IPR field. Depending on your needs, we can customize a fee schedule that works within your budget. In certain circumstances, we may even be able to minimize our hourly rate if, for example, you were on a monthly program. Also, due to the number of brand owners we represent, there may be opportunities to cost share with other clients. Please contact Vaudra Ltd. to schedule a consultation or for more details, by phone at 704.895.3939 or email to info@vaudra.com.

What is an enforcement program?
An enforcement program is a plan that is created to react to different IPR situations specific to your brand. We evaluate the potential protection issues that could arise and customize an action plan to address those issues. Whether your situation requires a proactive or reactive approach, we develop your plan based on your budget, priorities and objectives.

Can Vaudra Ltd. work on an individual case-by-case basis vs. putting an entire plan into place?
Yes, we can and we would not advise implementing a plan if you only require a reaction to a particular situation. However, it is to the greater benefit for all parties involved, if we have the opportunity to develop more long-term relationships with our clients. In this way, we can become experts on your products and marks, and truly work together to achieve your brand protection goals and objectives.

Can Vaudra Ltd. help our company if our brand protection concerns/needs are not located in North Carolina or are outside of the United States?
Yes. Our location has never kept us from working a case. Over the years, members of Vaudra Ltd. have implemented proven investigative techniques that do not necessarily involve face-to-face questioning of a subject at a particular location. In addition, we have developed an established international network of professional contacts, including associates, attorneys & information sources. These methods enable us to protect and represent our clients globally, in any country in the world.

Does Vaudra Ltd. employ its own in-house investigators?
Yes. Our investigators are full-time, licensed, educated and trained on a daily basis. Most have law enforcement and/or investigative backgrounds, all specializing in the IPR industry.

Is Vaudra Ltd. licensed and insured?
Yes. Without interruption, Vaudra Ltd.’s members have been licensed since 1993. Vaudra Ltd. is licensed by the Private Protective Services Board of the State of North Carolina #1637 U004944P1. The company also carries more than ample liability coverage and under certain circumstances, our clients can be added to the policy.

Do you conduct investigations outside of IP?
Our services sometimes include investigations unrelated to the IP industry. However, if we feel that your needs would be better suited by someone more specialized, we will refer you to a company with the expertise you require.

Where is Vaudra Ltd. located?
We are just north of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the prestigious Lake Norman area.

How did you decide on the company name of Vaudra Ltd.?
We wanted a name that was unique and concise. Once the cofounders learned the meaning of the word ‘vaudra’, loosely translated in French as ‘to be worth’ or ‘the worth of’, they appreciated how it tied into the primary goal of their newly formed company; to protect the worth of their clients’ brands.
